If you need someone now

You don't have to figure this out alone.

These numbers are for the US. If you're elsewhere, contact your local emergency number.

A note about stopping

If you're thinking about stopping alcohol or benzodiazepines, talk to a doctor first. Stopping suddenly can be dangerous.

Email support@knowmejournal.com. A person reads every message, and we'll reply as soon as we can.

Please don't send journal entries. We don't need them to help, and we'd rather not have them.

Common questions

Where is my journal stored?

On your phone, in one database. KnowMe doesn't sync it or back it up, and there's no account. We can't see it.

I got a new phone. Can I move my journal?

Not today. KnowMe has no export or transfer yet, so a new phone starts a new journal. We'd rather say that plainly than promise something that isn't there.

What leaves my phone?

Only the Reflect summary, and only when you tap Reflect. It holds counts, times of day, intensities, tags, and the reasons you wrote. Your notes stay out unless you turn on "Include my notes" for that letter. Everything else works offline. The privacy policy has the details.

Why can I only Reflect once a day?

Reflect writes one letter a day, and a new one is ready after local midnight. It's a reflection, not a chat. If you tap it again the same day, you keep today's letter.

Does KnowMe give advice?

No. It shows your own patterns, in your own words. For medical questions, talk to a doctor.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app. Your journal is deleted with it, and there's no copy anywhere else. To remove one habit and its moments, go to Me and tap that habit; KnowMe asks before it removes anything.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too. Use reportaproblem.apple.com.

Is KnowMe on Android?

It's on the way.
